Rotary Club of Dhaka North Eye Hospital, Kushtia is a service-oriented institution dedicated to preserving and improving eye health in the community, especially for the underprivileged. Our mission is to provide quality eye care that is accessible to all, while raising awareness about the importance of vision health.
The hospital's journey began on 10 May 1995 at Amla, Mirpur, Kushtia, under the visionary leadership of Rtn PP Group Captain (Retd.) MM Khairuzzaman, who founded the institution with the aim of making quality eye care accessible to everyone, regardless of financial background.
Equipped with advanced technology and staffed by skilled ophthalmologists, we ensure every patient receives safe, effective, and compassionate treatment — with a continued focus on reaching marginalized communities throughout Kushtia and the surrounding districts.
Our mission is to provide accessible, high-quality eye care to all, especially the underprivileged, while promoting awareness about vision health. We aim to prevent and treat eye diseases, restore sight, and improve the overall quality of life in the communities we serve — through compassionate care, modern technology, and community outreach.
Our vision is “Healthy Vision for Everyone.” We aspire to a world where every individual has access to quality eye care, regardless of background or financial status — a leading, community-focused eye hospital known for excellence in treatment, education, and outreach.
From a small charitable clinic in Mirpur to a fully equipped, purpose-built eye hospital — here is how the institution has grown over the years.
Rtn PP Group Captain (Retd.) MM Khairuzzaman establishes the hospital, laying the foundation for accessible, charitable eye care in the region.
The hospital temporarily moves its services to Ram Gopal Majumdar Road, Thanapara, Kushtia Sadar. During this period, Dr. Moin Uddin regularly provided ophthalmic care to patients, under the leadership of Rotarian Past President Dr. M. A. Wadud Sarker, who served as President.
The hospital moves into its own purpose-built facility at 60, Chad Mohammad Road, Thanapara, Kushtia, where it continues to offer comprehensive diagnostic and surgical eye care to this day.
In the 16 years since 2010, the hospital has treated more than 6,03,176 patients and performed over 15,674 sight-restoring surgeries from its permanent facility, alongside free eye camps, school health programs, and community outreach initiatives.
